Top 5 Jessica Lange ‘American Horror Story’ episodes now streaming
|While the reviews for the season finale of American Horror Story: Freak Show are mixed, there is one fact that fans can agree upon: Everyone wants more Jessica Lange!
The veteran actress has simply dominated seasons 1-4, but she seemed certain that American Horror Story: Freak Show would be her last go around. In an interview with E! News in November 2014, however, Lange stated the following:
“You know, I told him that we would sit down and have a long conversation when this was over,” Lange told us. “In a way this character is so great, I don’t know how you top Elsa Mars. I really—in deference to Ryan, who I love dearly and who I respect beyond—I have no idea at this point”.
So while we remain hopeful Lange will be enchanted enough behind the concept for season 5 to return, here are her best moments from seasons 1-3(currently streaming on Netflix) to help you get through your withdrawal.
5. Smoldering Children (2011) Season 1, Episode 10
No matter what character she plays, you don’t mess with Jessica Lange. One similarity behind all of her characters is that you don’t cross her, and she will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. If you piss off Constance Langdon, she will feed you to the dogs. Literally.
4. Season 2, Episode 2: Tricks and Treats (2012)
Again, if you mess with Jessica Lange, things don’t end well! After Sister Jude perceives a new patient as a threat to the future operations of Briarcliff, she asks the in-house doctor to perform electroshock treatment to the institution’s newest victim. We also learn that Sister Jude wasn’t always on the straight and narrow, and her dark secrets will plague here throughout the series.
3. Season 2, Episode 8: Unholy Night (2012)
Sister Jude has her hands full, as she battles the devil and a deranged Santa. This is one of the best episodes of the season, and it will make you want to run away from anyone dressed in a Santa outfit!
2. Season 3, Episode 3: The Replacements (2013)
While I thought this season was a little weaker than the others, Lange pulled everything together. As a young witch with a little too much ambition, Fiona Goode cements her place as the head of the covenant. History tries to play a cruel joke on Fiona when a younger replica of herself feels ready to rule, but the older witch does what’s needed to keep control.
1. Season 3, Episode 13: The Seven Wonders (2014)
The entire episode is engrossing, as the witches must complete a series of tests to see who the next Supreme is. What really stands out, however, is the end of Fiona’s reign. Find out how one person’s heaven, may actually be another person’s hell.
We hope Jessica Lange makes a return for season 5!
