STREAMING SPOTLIGHT: Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge
|The Nightmare On Elm Street franchise is one of my all-time favorite things on this earth for mainly two reasons… Freddy Krueger is the first monster to ever scare the hell out of me as a kid and this sequel. NOES II is one of the most outrageously confusing films in the horror genre. I always felt this never fit in with the rest of the films in the franchise because it broke all the rules that the first film set up as well as the other films obeyed.
I won’t spoil the film by telling you how, but I will recommend that before watching the film you check out the film Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy. Watch the full film of course, but if you don’t want to spend 4 hours of your day doing so, watch just the segment on the second film. It tells you in great detail how NOES II is officially the “gayest horror film in cinema history”. I was floored by this information. Not only have I never really noticed it before, but as soon as I saw it, I can’t UNSEE it. 90 minutes of perfectly crafted unintentional gay innuendoes that range from the main character having a man INSIDE of him and being scared that he likes it to THIS SCENE.
This film goes down in my books as one of the sweetest sassiest gems in horror history and deserves your undivided attention. So put down your ebook, stop fiddling on your banjo, and WATCH. THIS. MOVIE.
