Looks like Netflix is looking to expand their tween demographic and possibly combining it with creepy dads all at the same time! Netflix has announced it’s newest Hasbro studios‘ animated venture and it’s based on the classic toy Stretch Armstrong.
Netflix also mentioned series orders for a new action drama, The Greenhouse from from Paula Yoo and Nutz Productions. Both shows as a new season of the animated show Lalaloopsy are set to debut in fall 2016.
The Hollywood Reporter released these descriptions for the show:
The Greenhouse, set to debut in 2017, portrays an elite boarding school in southern California where students are divided into two rival houses that must join forces when an evil plot is uncovered. Yoo is adapting with showrunner Giora Chamizer, who wrote and created the original series.
Nutz Productions, a subsidiary company of Ananey Communications, is producing The Greenhouse for Netflix. Also headed to Netflix next year is Stretch Armstrong, an animated action/comedy series from Hasbro Studios about an over-scheduled teenager and his two best friends.
The 26 episode series marks the 3rd original series from Hasbro Studios for Netflix. And the streamer ordered 13 episodes of Lalaloopsy, an animated series that features the Lalaloopsy girls in a whimsical world.
