5 ACTION MOVIES FOR SINGLE BROS ON VALENTINE’S DAY

If you’re a single guy, the world wants you to feel like crap because you don’t have a date on Valentines’ Day, but don’t let Instagram and Facebook make you feel like you are missing out!

Honestly; Do you really want to spend February 14th waiting for hours on reservations you made weeks ago, or would you rather bro the hell out and drink beer, eat food that doesn’t require a knife and watch people shoot guns? That’s what I thought.

If you’re single, change Valentine’s Day into “Treat Yo Self Day”, and indulge your need for action-packed flicks! You won’t find Ryan Gosling and The Notebook on this list, but you will find two cast members of The Expendables 2. As the kids say, “Do you”, and turn Valentine’s Day into something you will actually enjoy!

Battle Royale (2000)
If Quentin Tarantino directed the Hunger Games with Japanese-high school students, you would get Battle Royale. The students have three days to kill each other, until there is only one winner. If more than one person is left standing, everyone will be killed. Just like high school, cliques quickly form, and psychopaths show their true colors. Battle Royale is the perfect movie to prove that there are worse things than being single on Valentines’ Day.

Bloodsport (1988)
When compiling a list of action movies, you have to have at least one movie with the “Muscles from Brussels”. It’s science. For the action lover, it doesn’t get much better than Jean-Claude Van Damme, secret martial arts contests and an epic showdown. Forget about being alone this Valentines’ Day, and open your heart to Mr. Van Damme.

Restrepo (2010)
Chronicling a platoon in Afghanistan, Restrepo should give you the kick in the butt you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself. The directors aren’t out to justify or condemn the war, and the viewer is given a first-hand account of life as a solider in one of the most dangerous places in the world. Take some time to reflect, and appreciate what you do have.

Total Recall (1990)
Similar to must having Van Damme on the list, Arnold Schwarzenegger has to be on here as well. Even if you aren’t the biggest fan of science fiction, there are plenty of explosions, chases and one-liners to make it worth your while. Crack open a brew, order a pizza and start streaming Total Recall.

Kill Bill Volume 1 (2003)
Jaded from a bad relationship? “The Bride” knows exactly how you feel! Left for dead on her wedding day, Uma Therman awakes from a coma four years later, and starts her quest for revenge against the group of deadly assassins who destroyed her chance at a normal life. From a witty storyline to huge swords, Kill Bill Volume 1 has it all!
