Neil Patrick Harris Signs To Star in ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’

When you can get the best, why not settle for the biggest man in Hollywood… 3 years ago? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neil Patrick Harris, the How I Met Your Mother alum is in talks to star in Netflix’s adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events.

The children’s book series, written by Daniel Handler, is currently in development at Netflix.  The 13-book series follows the story of orphaned children Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire, who wind up in the villainous hands of an evil man named Count Olaf, who is going after the family fortune. The book series has sold more than 60 million copies over the years and racked up several awards and nominations.

Before Netflix locked the project in straight-to-series for 13 episodes, a film adaptation starring Jim Carrey was released in 2004. We all know how that worked out, even though it was a bomb it fit the tone of the book series and set a pretty solid example of what not to do with this series.

Anyone excited to see this face for 13 hours of television?
